2015 Highlights

With all of the engagements and weddings wrapped up for this year the only thing left to say is a huge Thank you and Happy New Year to all the fabulous brides and grooms that I have come to know over the past year. This has been the most enjoyable and successful year ever for my business and the weddings I have had the pleasure to photograph have brought me to some incredible venues all over the country and created some fantastic memories.

I'm so excited about 2016...

It's a magazine cover!

berks, bucks & oxon bride

Photographing people, not on their wedding day, is welcome relief. It means I can work on new ideas, test out new equipment and techniques. It also gives me the chance to work with other professionals from the wedding industry and together we can try to get our work noticed. On our first outing working together as a team, Melissa Clare, Siobhan Dooley and me produced some great photos that are featured on the cover and in the editorial of Berks, Bucks and Oxon Bride. Fantastic!

The photoshoot itself took place at The Sanctum on the Green near Marlow, which in the Summer months was a great location for the shoot with it's hidden nooks, long grass and beautiful walled gardens.

Notes from the editorial: The Lusan Mandongus dress was chosen for it's beautifully layered silk, flowing chiffon and hand sewn lace details. The fantastic hair styling and make-up were provided by Melissa Clare, who is also included at the engagement shoot for all Brides booked onto my family package! The minimalist shoes and bangle bracelet were provided by the model, Siobhan, who i think you can agree looked stunning. The Gypsophilia bouquet from A New Bloom provided a simple statement to complement the bold silk headpiece from Rock 'n Rose UK. Using a silk headpiece helped avoid the wilting problem with real flowers (not helped by hot heads on sunny days).

The final image is the advert I sent to Amanda, the Editor of Archant Bride. She liked the image so much she wanted to see more from the shoot, leading to the cover and the editorial. You will probably notice me using this image elsewhere on my website :-)

A New Beginning

Brand new look

I'm so excited by this, my new brand and website have just gone live today. You'll probably notice that it's a complete transformation from my old look, the one I designed myself in-between photoshoots having read a few tips on Google.

I didn't even attempt doing it myself this time, I still Googled but only to find local web and brand stylists and Flourish immediately stood out. Their own website looked fantastic and their portfolio was exactly what I was looking for. It was that easy, no more stress learning Wordpress and web development. They even made it so my email clients actually sync properly - I can't tell you how much of a faff that has been.

Designing and developing with their team has been like a Spa-break for my business. Thank you so much guys for making this happen, i'm feeling really good about the result and the new couples it will hopefully lead me to in the future.

It may take me a while to transfer my old blog posts across - please bear with me...
